Daniel Negreanu is one of the most recognized famous poker players in the world, despite his youth. Nicknamed “KidPoker” Daniel has managed to become one of the best poker players in the world.

Born on July 26, 1974 in Toronto, Canada, Daniel Negreanu discovered that he had some very good poker skills, and thanks to his parents, immigrants from Romania, who encouraged him to chase his dreams, he decided that he could become a professional poker player.

At the age of 18, Daniel Negreanu had dropped out of high school - one credit short of graduation - to focus on poker. He started supplementing his play at illegal games around town with trips to charity casinos. Ever charming, he met and started dating a local dealer by the name of Evelyn Ng. For a more traditional lifestyle, he tried one day as a telemarketer and a month working at a Subway, but his path clearly led elsewhere.




Daniel Negreanu learned how to play to play poker in Toronto and at the age of 21, Daniel Negreanu moved to Las Vegas, but soon after was forced to move back home to Toronto in order to rebuild his bankroll. Daniel Negreanu came back in 1997 in a big way, winning two events at the World Poker Finals at the Foxwoods Casino, earning the title of the tournament’s “best all-around player.”

Daniel Negreanu became the youngest person to win a World Series of Poker bracelet, winning the 1998 World Series of Poker $2000 Pot Limit Holdem event. Daniel would not be dethroned from his reign as youngest WSOP winner until 2004. Daniel has won more than $50,000 in tournaments 25 separate times, his winning totaling nearly $4.4 million in 2006 alone.


In 2004, Daniel Negreanu won the World Series of Poker Player of the Year Award for his consistently outstanding play that year. In 2005, Daniel Negreanu launched his own poker room on his website FullContactPoker.com where he plays under the screenname “KidPoker”. He has since come to a deal with Pokerstars to play there on a more frequent basis.

Poker pro Daniel Negreanu is a regular contributor to CardPlayer Magazine, offering helpful advice to the magazine’s readers. He has also contributed to Doyle Brunson’s Super System II. He has appeared on numerous poker TV shows, including Late Night Poker, High Stakes Poker, and Poker After Dark. Daniel Negreanu also has his own video game, “Stacked with Daniel Negreanu,” which was released in 2006 and is one of the better poker video games on the market.
